This is how I support the "muffler-heat muff" and still let it float with the
engine (note the springs attached to
the clamps).
I bought my carb box from Spruce but needed to enclose it and mate it to the cowling. I also needed to get my cold air intake for cabin heat and fuel line cooling.
I have many more pictures on CD if you need, also I have a set of paper plans that I drew up if you need them.
Note the cold air tubing over the fuel line going into the carb. I split the tube at the point the fuel line comes through the fire wall (gasolator) so that my fuel line is completely bathed in cold air all the time. I use auto gas and have never had a problem with vapor lock in hot weather.
One of these is for fuel line cooling and one for cabin heat which goes though both heat muffs.
The factory valve for cabin heat is made wrong so that when it is closed the air is stopped and the heat-muffs will get too hot and not cool, which will make it fail sooner, I would worry about carbon monoxide poisoning. If you want more info on how I fixed this give me a call.
Installing air filter You can also see fuel cold air tube over fuel line.
Carb heat supply comes from cross over pipe
I have all kinds of other pictures of my engine install. If you need them let me
know.
